In 2048, the Robinsons were selected for the 24th mission of the Resolute. Perseverance is a starship that takes select families to outer space to explore new worlds. Perseverance was built after a celestial body dubbed "The Christmas Star" by the media hit Earth a few years ago and threatened the very existence of humans on Earth. But before Perseverance can bring the family to its destination, an alien robot destroys Perseverance's hull.
Some families were forced to travel to the short-range starship Jupiter and pilot it to escape. Jupiter crash-landed on a terrestrial planet, leaving the Robinsons and other surviving colonists to survive on the frozen planet. On the one hand, they have to resist the harsh environment here and the demons in their hearts, and on the other hand, they have to find a way to return to Perseverance. In October 2014, Legend Television announced that it would reboot Lost in Space and was working on a new version of the series, and also announced the hiring of Dracula.
The Curse's editor Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless are involved in the filming of the new TV series. In November 2015, Netflix acquired the series. On June 29, 2016, Netflix officially ordered 10 episodes of "Lost in Space" and announced Zack Estrin as executive producer and showrunner for the series. Meanwhile, Matt Sassama, Burke Sharpless, Kevin Burns, Jon Gahini, Neil Marshall, and Marc Helwig are executive producers of the show.
