Peter Parker met Gwen at Empire State University, and both were students at Empire State University at the time. At first, Peter didn't particularly notice Gwen. The Green Devil kidnaps Gwen to the tower of the George Washington Bridge after discovering that Peter is Spider-Man. Spider-Man gets there and fights the Green Devil. After the Green Devil threw the gate down, Spider-Man used spider silk to stick to Gwen's legs.
